Description
GearBoss Carts Revolutionize Storage at the New Melissa High School Athletic Center.
“We knew adequate storage was important for our new Melissa Championship Center – you can never have enough storage – but we weren’t sure what type to use,” says Duke Sparks, Director of Community Partnerships & Athletic Operations at Melissa High School in Melissa, Texas.
The new Melissa High School facility had opened four years ago; it’s growing on pace to become 6A in Texas in six years – the highest level. Of more than 1,600 students, over 300 of them are involved in football alone.
The athletic department was running out of space. In the research process, Sparks says they visited seven other high schools, along with three D-I colleges. One of the high schools had the GearBoss cart system. Recalls Sparks, “I knew about Wenger equipment for band, orchestra and choir, but nothing about the GearBoss line.”
Their Wenger sales rep calculated what was needed and provided several options for carts and shelving, including space for future growth. From reviewing Wenger’s shop drawings to the installation process, Sparks claims the entire process was quick and easy.
“The GearBoss system is amazing! It has revolutionized storing, issuing and caring for equipment,” he concludes. “I would not build a new athletic facility without it; it’s incredible.”
