Opened for the 2024–25 school year (August 2024), Freeman High School is Katy ISD’s newest comprehensive campus, an approximately 640,000–650,000 sq.-ft. facility planned to serve up to 3,000 students, delivered as part of the district’s 2021 voter-approved bond program.

The three-story campus pairs modern academics with a robust athletics program supported by multiple competition and training venues, including large and small gyms, a stadium field, baseball and softball fields, and a strength center.

GearBoss high-density storage solutions help Freeman’s coaches and student-athletes keep equipment secure, organized, and ready to move efficiently between team rooms, gyms, and fields, so the building’s high-performance athletic spaces can operate at full speed every day.

The athletic storage room features GearBoss Team Carts in two rows, set in the center of the room. The carts provide storage for helmets and pads on specialized hangers, as well as spaces for uniforms, shoes, and other equipment. 

The central location of the cart system allows for two walls of GearBoss shelving, which can be configured specifically for the equipment being stored. The shelving also includes lockable safe boxes for valuables that need to be secured.

Wenger UltraStor cabinets provide locking storage on the remaining wall of the storage area, which makes organizing and securing high investment equipment easy, while also allowing for an immediate visual of what each cabinet contains.

Freeman also chose to outfit their program with two GearBoss TranSport carts to make moving heavy equipment from storage to practice area simple and easy. Two GearBoss Mobile Workstations provide ample countertop space and plenty of lockable storage for equipment repair supplies, coaches equipment and more.
